Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-02

This Privacy Policy explains how Sermon Clips ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit sermon-clips.com or use our services (collectively, the "Service"). We respect that the content you entrust to us is ministry content, and we treat it accordingly.

1. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information. Your name, email address, organization name, and authentication identifiers when you sign up.
  • Customer Content. Sermon audio, video, transcripts, YouTube links, branding assets, and any other materials you upload or link to in order to generate clips.
  • Billing data. Plan tier, billing history, and partial card information held by our payment processor (we do not store full card numbers).
  • Usage data. Pages visited, features used, device and browser information, IP address, and approximate location, captured through product analytics.
  • Communications. Messages you send to support and responses to lifecycle and marketing emails.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To operate, maintain, and provide features of the Service.
  • To process Customer Content into clips, captions, and translations.
  • To authenticate users and secure accounts.
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • To send transactional emails (clip-ready notifications, billing receipts, security notices) and, where permitted, product updates.
  • To analyze usage so we can improve performance, reliability, and the product roadmap.
  • To prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.

3. Sharing and Subprocessors

We do not sell your personal information. We share information with the following categories of service providers ("subprocessors") that help us run the Service:

  • Clerk — authentication and user identity.
  • Stripe and Autumn — payment processing and subscription billing.
  • Resend — transactional and lifecycle email delivery.
  • PostHog — product analytics, error tracking, and optional session replay (sensitive inputs are masked).
  • Vercel — application hosting, edge delivery, and serverless compute.
  • Neon — managed PostgreSQL database.
  • Amazon Web Services — object storage (S3) and media transcoding (MediaConvert) for sermon files and rendered clips.
  • Mosaic — AI video editing and clip generation.

Each subprocessor is bound by contractual confidentiality and security obligations. We may also share information when required by law, in response to valid legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of Sermon Clips, our users, or the public.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use first- and third-party cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure traffic, and understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may impair some features.

5. Data Retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. We retain Customer Content for as long as needed to provide the Service or as required by law, and we delete uploaded source media on a rolling basis once clips have been generated unless you ask us to keep it. You can request deletion of your account and content at any time.

6. Security

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure; you use the Service at your own risk and are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support@sermon-clips.com. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email or in-product notice. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
